The wedding I went to last week was all set up with gorgeous mikasa crystal accessories for all the reception tables. On every table were lovely mikasa crystals and mikasa crystal glasses. The bride really has excellent taste in wedding décor and knows how to set an exquisite table. With all the mikasa accessories she had on the tables, it was a picture of elegance.
The place cards rested on the tails of these very beautiful little silver doves. The elegance of her reception tables were enhanced by the lovely centerpieces she had chosen. A beautiful floral arrangement was placed around pillar candles as the centerpieces. Their choice of wedding favors were something to acknowledge too. Deep chocolate cake with chocolate cream cheese topping each of the five layers with the fantastic wedding cake they had. As the cake topper she had a really unique idea. She shopped online for almost all of her wedding accessories and reception supplies and found out they customized cake toppers for weddings. All she had to do was send in a couple of head shots of her and her fiance and they customized bride and groom figurines that look exactly like the happy couple. It looked just like them. I was determined to find out what the name of her online wedding store was so I could have them make up a cake topper like that for my mom and dads’ anniversary wedding.
I think one of the funniest part of this whole thing was when it was time for the garter toss. Seeing all those men as their excitement grew when the garter was being removed by the groom. As the garter flew through the air, they were all falling into each other as they tried desperately to grab it up. What was really funny was that the winner of the garter toss was talked into participating by the other guys and he was a widower in his 70’s. As the old man walked off with the garter in hand he was smiling from ear to ear.
For the bridal toast we all had crystal champagne flutes, that we were also given to take home, with the names of the bride and groom, and date of the wedding printed on them. As soon as the toast was finished, the happy couple took to the dance floor for the traditional bride and grooms first dance. They made such an elegant couple as they danced across the dance floor. After their first dance was over, the dance floor was over run with couples. I think I over extended myself on the dance floor, my feet ached so badly.
Finally it was time for the bride and groom to depart for their honeymoon, and we all said our good byes. One of the other guests told me they were honeymooning in Hawaii. They’ll have a honeymoon to equal this fabulous wedding and reception. We all stay for quite a while after the bride and groom left and partied ourselves into exhaustion.
I received my thank you note for my gift and my presence at the wedding and reception, after only two weeks. She really got to these thank you’s quickly. She did let me in on her secret online wedding shopping site, where she supplied the mikasa wedding favor and ordered that cake topper from. In fact, I’m getting ready to place my order right now for my mom and dad’s anniversary wedding.
