The amount of possibilities can be overwhelming when you’re when putting together a ceremony and reception, but it’s also quite a thrill at the same time. I know that when I tried to assist my daughter in planning her wedding, the biggest challenge was trying to get her to settle on one choice. The initial decision was just the overall genre of the wedding: something old-fashioned, or a trendier style of ceremony. She studied every possible variety that we could think of, and she just ended up getting more and more confused. For her special day, she thought about building the wedding around a lakeshore setting, and then she considered a wedding in an outdoor garden setting. Having a standard wedding ceremony and reception was what my daughter decided, at last, would be the best option for her. Once she made up her mind at last, we got to work putting together the wedding.
We shipped out the invitations, and we signed up to reserve the church for the ceremony and a reception hall for the reception dinner. We focused on the materials we’d need for the reception dinner since her wedding gown and the outfits for the bridesmaids and groomsmen had already been selected. In addition to finding a wedding guest book and a picture album, there were some other things that we had to pick out yet. We looked through a cool selection of wedding guest books, some with so many lovely designs to choose from. We had our pick of adorable wedding pens that went with the guestbooks, too. We weren’t quite done picking things out yet and my daughter saw this wedding set with a white satin cover and bow, with rhinestones, that had six pieces. There was a lovely unity candle, ring pillow, flower basket and wedding garter. A
wedding photo guest book came with it. We were so surprised to find so many beautiful wedding items all in one set for one low price. The picture album we picked out for the special day was really cute; it had all kinds of neat pages for small souvenirs and art. It really was a beautiful photo album.
Finally we were down to the cake topper, place card holders and wedding favors. Everything else was taken care of. A couple of doves formed out of glazed porcelain were what my daughter selected to put at the top of her wedding cake. That wedding cake topper will make a lovely keepsake. Next we went for the place card holders, and for those my daughter decided to go with little silver picture frames for all of her guests at the reception. She said she liked those best because after the reception the guests could take them home and use them to display their favorite little picture. She did alright picking out her wedding accessories and reception supplies. The extra cash she was able to hang on to by finding good deals is going to get spent when they go on the honeymoon.
The look and experience of our wedding day was a smashing success with our guests. When the bride and groom did their first dance, it was a stunningly beautiful moment. We all did a lot of dancing that night, and I swear my feet still hurt, but it was all worth it, it was a wonderful event that I will remember forever. My little girl was now a wife and would someday be a mother, maybe with a daughter of her own. I’m sure that when the time comes to pick out accessories and gifts for the baby shower, I’ll know right where to go. Wednesday, May 6th, 2009Getting the products I needed for the ceremony and reception required some thought, but as I turned my attention to getting a present for my bridesmaids, it dawned on me that I had a long ways to go yet. I just couldn’t seem to come across anything that they would really appreciate. A number of favors for reception guests and people who stand up in your wedding are out there on the web. Trying to select just the right one is where it got difficult. I stumbled across some wonderful low-priced thank you items as well. Instead of having to buy each piece separately, I was able to purchase it all together at a great low price.
I knew my bridesmaids would be thrilled if I got them an elegant jewelry box, and I found just that while I was perusing through the thank you gifts. The choices for what to get my bridesmaids were so many that I finally just went back to planning the rest of the wedding because my head was spinning. I still had to get supplies and accessories for the reception even though the wedding ceremony was all but taken care of. My man got the groomsmen a neat little multi-purpose tool that had a tiny scissors and a toothpick and all kinds of weird gadgets.
The topper I finally decided on was a bride and groom embracing and it was really quite lovely on top of our wedding cake. I looked at several different styles, and almost bought the monogram cake topper with silver brushed initials and crystals, but I fell for the embracing couple instead. With all of the rest of it out of the way, it was time to make the call on a present for my bridemaids. I did go with boxes for jewelry for each of them, and also bought a piece of unique wedding jewelry to put inside. I chose a beautiful rhinestone bracelet for all of them. It wasn’t over-the-top, even though it might seem that way. I kept some money in my pocket by getting discount wedding jewelry that was very pretty, and there was much selection. The pearl wedding jewelry I picked out to wear at my wedding was from the same spot. There are some really exquisite pieces to choose from, and less costly than you may imagine. The groomsmen were pleased with what my hubby got them, and the bridesmaids were thrilled with theirs.
The wedding day was everything that I had fantasized it could be. My groom’s brother caught the garter, and my sister, who’s also not dating anyone, managed to grab the bouquet. Is it just coincidence, or is it fate? If they did get together and someday took the plunge, he would still be my brother in law, but my sister would also be my sister in law too. You never know!

Some of our friends and family complimented me on my choice of unique candle wedding favors as their thank you gifts, and told me how much they liked them. So, I guess I made the right choice. Everyone also told me what a great time they were having at the reception, and as we were leaving they all gave us their best wishes for a happy life. This was truly one of the most unforgettable days in my life.
Cool new wedding favor
Sunday, May 3rd, 2009Its been many years since my wedding and I can’t believe how much everything has changed for the better, including the decorations. It’s amazing what is out there and the variety you can choose from. There were plenty of suggestions for beach weddings that I thought were very nice with little seashells, starfish and other oceanside designs. There were also some pretty clever ideas for garden and other summer and spring weddings and receptions. I saw gorgeous new wedding collections for all seasons. The season that was amazing was the winter season because of all the Christmas colors and decorations you can add to your reception. Did you know that some couples actually have a winter wedding outside? To me having a wedding in the winter outside would be a beautiful site to see and yet a little way out of the norm. I think I would be just fine with an indoor winter wedding and reception. The best place for a winter wedding would be in a setting with a warm cozy fire and warm atmosphere.
An autumn wedding is so gorgeous and one of my favorite seasons, and has lot to offer in wedding accessories and reception supplies. Autumn is the best season for me and the best time to have a wedding, with it’s colorful background as your main motif. My wedding day was so long ago that the choices we had were being married in the church or running away and getting married. Now there are so many different types of weddings you can really have your ceremony exactly the way you want to. There are even long distance weddings, where everybody takes a trip to where the wedding will take place. Everybody probably feels like they’re eploping too. My daughter is getting married in two months and I’m helping her to plan the whole thing and she has decided to have a country western ceremony and reception. I would of never guessed that a country western wedding would be so great until I helped my daughter plan hers. She ordered all the decorations in a western style decor. They had a style of there own. She’s set up a country band, barbecue grills and hay bales that will be part of the party decor. She plans to string lights and lanterns everywhere outside for her big country reception party. Also she purchased centerpieces and name card holders that are western style. They’ve arranged to rent a dude ranch for this event, which really surprised me, because, I didn’t know you could even do that. She purchased many wedding and reception embellishments on the internet and they went with the country western style. She bought bride and groom cowboy hats there for her and her fiance and the cutest little new weddings for each of their guests.
Instead of a normal reception it is looking more like a family get together that has hayrides and outdoor grills. Which when I think of it, sounds like a pretty good time for all. They even planned to have some country western line dancing in the barn. After hearing all this I knew I had to go to the store and get blue jeans, cowboy boots and a cowboy hat so that I could join in the fun and excitement. This wedding is going to be the wedding of the year and probably won’t be forgotten for a long time. Thanks to my daughters great country themed wedding, she’s given me a great idea for our anniversary.
